Directions
We are encouraging ALL 5K participants to be car-free and GO Metro to the Chinatown Station, which is located right across the street from Homeboy. And there's perks for not driving, if you show your valid Metro TAP card, Metro employee ID or LA County employee ID to the cashier or your server at Homegirl Café, you’ll receive a FREE Angela’s Potion, Aguas Fresca or any other beverage. Additionally, flash your card or ID at the coat/bag check and store your belongings all day long, safely and for FREE! To find the best route or more info, visit the Metro Trip Planner. If you can’t get to a Metro station, try using UBER – you will receive the same benefits as above by flashing your receipt screen! If you absolutely positively must drive, please click here for directions to Homeboy Industries.
Public Parking
Public parking is very challenging downtown, especially when many streets are closed down, we highly encourage you to Go Metro or take UBER! There will be some street parking available and some lots, we will update information as we get closer to the race.
We will have a limited number of handicapped parking spaces available adjacent to Homeboy in the parking lot off of Main Street. To reserve your spot or to get more information, please contact us: parking@EveryAngelenoCounts.org
How far is a 5K?
3.1 miles
Do I have to run?
No. You can run or walk (…or skip or tap dance) along the route, as long as you don’t get in the way of the other participants. You can even skip the race completely, cheer on the folks who are running, and enjoy the festival.
Can spectators attend if they aren’t registered?
Absolutely! We will have a huge block party with a rock wall, vendors, food, art, music and kid’s activities. However we encourage you to register, even if you don’t want to run, all funds raised will help support Homeboy Industries!
Can I bring my pet?
Homeboy loves animals and leashed dogs are welcome however we ask that you leave all other pets at home!
Is there an age limit?
No age limits! If they can cover (running, jogging, walking, strolling, skipping or tap dancing) the entire 5K course, they can absolutely participate! Remember though, as soon as they turn 6 years old they will need to register and have a race bib! For those kids ages 2-12 years, they can also register for our Kids 1k Fun Run.
What is the difference between team and individual registration?
If you are an individual runner, awesome, just register as an Individual. Want to create a team or join a team? No problem – on the registration page choose “Create a Team” or “Join a Team” if you would like to join a team that is already registered!
